Life is an adventure: MNatti in NZ

Howdy y'all! Once again.... I am alive and well and not finding myself in front of a computer a whole lot! Life in Kiwiville is as good as ever, perhaps a bit repetitive..... but when weekly adventures, cool jobs, meeting cool new peolpe and heaps of climb are the things being repeated, who can complain?!?
I have become rather obsessed, as of late, with leaving my mark on the North Island climbing scene and am now going to climbing areas in search of NEW routes as apposed to lines that have already been established. This is often a bit more time consuming due to the work involved cleaning off a route, but at the end of the day it is very satisfying to climb a route that has never been done before. It is also a great feeling to know you have contributed to the future of NZ climbing as well.
This past week has been very enjoyable as far as work goes. We have been doing a HUGE job involving multiple large removals. The job entails a lot of rigging and brain work as well as a lot of cool "smash and crash" stuff as well. For a few of the trees we had to zip line out large chuns of the trees over a concrete walkway, away from abutting houses, and into a small gorge (everything that landed there could STAY there!). Some of the other trees (some upwards of 80 feet) we simply got to drop, whole, into the same gorge...... "and the earth did shake!"
Cristin is currently back in the states visiting.... but I am looking foreward to having her back in Palmy. I din't realise how much I missed her while she was working on the South island until she came back up... then after hanging out with here a few times made it really sink in. We are going of a climbing trip to the South Island this coming weekend for thursday through tuesday (I know I'm a slacker, dirt bag climbing bum.... but I LOVE it!) with a few friends.... and it will be cool to have my old climbing partner back by my side.
Anyways.... that's news for now. I miss all of ya! Keep in touch and keep living life to the fullest.
